Thaddeus Armistead was born on 2 March 1755, in Cumberland, Virginia, British Colonial America, his father, John Anthony Armistead, was 37 and his mother, Hannah Harrison, was 37. He married Mary Atkinson in 1796, in Cumberland, Virginia, United States. They were the parents of at least 2 sons. He died on 12 December 1848, in Smith, Tennessee, United States, at the age of 93.
