He married THANKFUL RIDLEY September 15, 1742 in Truro, Barnstable Co., Massachusetts, daughter of THOMAS RIPLEY and MARY SMALLEY. She was born November 26, 1726 in Truro, Barnstable, MA, and died June 12, 1796 in Cranberry Horn Cem., Cundy's Harbor, Great Island, Harpswell, Cumberland, ME.

This is an old stone and there are three other remenants of stones in the same line as Thankful's, it can only be assumed that one could possibly be that of Taylor and possibly one or two children.

Jim, Here is what I have about John Thompson. 1. "John, son to Joseph Thompson, bap. in infancy Jun 28 1761" (Harpswell VRs) 2a. "JNo Thompson and Lydia Small married 17th JAN 1782" (Harpswell VRs--I think (I misplaced the ref)). 2b. "John Thompson married Lydia Small Dec 27, 1781" (Harpswell VRs). 3. "1809, John Thompson d. Bowdoin ae 49, son of Joseph and Mary Hinckly of Harpswell" (Bowdoin VRs). Sinnett (Thompson Genealogy) also wrote that John died at Bodwoin. One puzzle is that Sinnett believed Joseph Thompson, John's father, died 1759 according to a deed. I have not found the record that refs that deed. Harpswell records are spotty and many appear to be backfilled at later dates according to someone's memory. My best guess, based on ages, circumstances, and coinciding places, is that Moses D. Thompson, born, say 1796, was a son to John and Lydia. This is weak and I seek some record. I have no info on anything else regarding their children.
