SUDDEN DEATH OF SYLVESTER HECKARD,MOUNT PLEASANT TIMES,MICHIGAN, MAY 9,1918
Time of funeral not yet decided upon, Leaves 5 children, Sylvestor Heckard dropped dead at his home out near the trinity church Sunday morning about 11 o'clock. Mr. Heckard had had two strokes of paralysis before but at the present time was feeling somewhat better than he had been and was able to be about and attend to his work as usual. He had been over to the home of his uncle Frank Heckard, and on reaching his own home had barely stepped into the house when he dropped to the floor dead. He was about 55 years of age. His wife died about eight years ago. Two sons have been living with him at home and there are also two sons and a daughter who live in OH. Funeral arrangements had not been made up to Wednesday noon as they were waiting for the arrival of daughter and sons from OH, who were expected yesterday sometime.
