Oswego Palladium-Times, 18 Sep 1954: CAR KILLS COW A cow, owned by Haynes Snyder of County Route 6, was killed early this morning when struck by a car driven by Sylvester P. Gamble, 28, of RD 2. The cow was carried on the front of the car for a considerable distance after the impact, which demolished the front of the car, a 1953 model. Gamble told Deputy Sheriffs... who investigated the mishap which occurred at 1:40 a.m., he was driving north in heavy fog and did not see the cow which was in the middle of the road until just before the impact. Gamble was uninjured.

Syracuse Post-Standard, 7 July 2005: SAL GAMBLE July 4, 2005-- Sal Gamble, 79, of Fulton, died Monday at VA Medical Center, Syracuse. Born in North Volney, Sal was a life resident of Fulton. In 1988 he retired from Local 545, Syracuse, after more than 20 years. He enjoyed golfing and bowling. Mr. Gamble was an Army veteran. He is survived by two daughters, Bonita Butler and Donna Gamble; two sons, Daniel Gamble and James Gamble; two sisters, Golda Romanski and Ann Upchurch; one brother, Thomas Gamble; one granddaughter, Deanna Wettering; one great-granddaughter, Jada; several nieces, nephews and cousins. Services will be private. There are no calling hours. Entombment at All Saints Mausoleum, Oswego
