Suzanne is the "stammoeder" of the Jansen van Vuren family in Southern Africa. According to her surname her family must have been Dutch decedents who permanently settled on the north coast of France during or after the Spanish -Netherlands 80 year war.

After emigrating to the Cape Suzanne's farther was allocated the farm De Goede Hoop some 5 kilometers from Bellingchamp. One can be reasonably certain that Gerrit visited the new settlers after their arrival - he might even have assisted the family with their move.
