Susannah Priscilla Lewis was born on 21st January 1900 at Luton in Bedfordshire, daughter of a straw hat sewer named Susannah Priscilla Moss and Thomas Lewis, a rag and bone man. Young Susannah appears in the 1901 census living with her parents and siblings at 148 Chapel Street in Luton. By 1911 the family had moved around the corner to 29 South Road.
Susannah's father died in 1916. Susannah does not appear to have married. At the outbreak of the Second World War she was still living with her mother and some of her siblings at 29 South Road. Her mother died in 1950. Shortly after her mother's death, Susannah left 29 South Road - both she and her mother were listed there in the 1951 electoral register (presumably compiled in late 1950 before her mother died). A different family was at 29 South Road in the 1953 electoral register.
Susannah's next sighting is not until her death on 20th June 1992, aged 92. Immediately before her death she was living in a care home in Reading, Berkshire.
