From O. B. Robbins' book: "Susan passed away at Palm Springs, CA where she had gone for a brief rest. She had not been sick and her death was a great shock to her relatives. A Los Angeles nuwspaper of Feb. 18, published the following: Mrs. Joseph R. Jahraus, leader in many civic organizations, was secretary of the Laguna branch of the Red Cross, head of the baby clinic here, chairman of the Parent Teachers Association's child welfare committee, chairman of the Girl Scouts and a member of the Unemployment Relief Committee."
