Since Susan is only 1 yr old on the 1850 US Census she was probably born in Oregon, Dane Co., Wisconsin. Per: «u»<http://wc.rootsweb.ancestry.com/cgi-bin/igm.cgi> «/u» She does not appear on the 1857 Territorial Minnesota Census. She would have been 8. Since she appears on the later Census records she must have been visiting someone.
