Facts and Events
In old land deed at Warwick, are records of transactions he had with his brothers, Jeremiah and Josiah in 1696, with John Warner, Jr. in 1704 and 1708, with his brother Josiah agin in 1708-09, with Robert Potter, in 1708. and Kpjm Gerardu om 1712. In 1715, when his son Josiah was 21, he deeded land to him. It appears that his older brother, Jeremiah, Jr., having succeeded to his father's homestead in Warwick, Stukely became something of a leader of his four younger brothers, Josiah, Samuel, William and Benjamin, in settling on farm tracdts in the Meshanticut 1,000 acres, which in 1700, were unalloted. These farms were along the Meshanticut creek running north-easterly from the Pawtuxet river at Natik. It is also probable the five brothers held "rights" in this land before it was allotted.
