As a young man, Sterling Price Martin moved around a great deal. For a short time, he and his father went into the merchantile business. Then his father sold him his part of the business. After a time, Sterling wint into a dog business but he was restless and decided to move to Calloway County, Missouri. His uncle Benjamin Burkley Lamar was already living in Calloway County. On January 24, 1909, Sterling was living in Fulton, Missouri. At that time, his aunt Mary Ann "Polly" Willing died at his home. She had been living with him after her husband, Dr. George M. Willing, died. Sterling Price Martin died and was burined in the cemetery on the Old Columbus Road in Calloway County, Missouri. |
