    "48 Stephen Kelsey (Stephen8 William1), eldest son and fourth child of Stephen Kelsey and Hannah Ingersoll, was born Sept. 20, 1677, at Hartford. He resided at New Hartford where he died on Apr. 2, 1745. …

    The will of Stephen148 Kelsey of New Hartford, which is filed at Hartford, reads as follows:

    'I Stephen Kelsey of New Hartford, in the County of Hartford, do make this my last Will and Testament:

    'Imprimis. I give to Dorothy my wife, her thirds of moveable estate, one room in my dwelling house and her thirds of income of my estate during life, and one chest.

    'I give to my eldest son Stephen Kelsey of Waterbury, one half of a forty pound note payable to my son Timothy Kelsey of Kensington, dated 9th. October 1744. I give my gunn to his Eldest son Daniel Kelsey.

    'I give to my son Jonathan Kelsey of Woodbury the other half before mentioned forty pound note, to his own proper use and benefit after my decease, and to his heirs forever. To Nathan son of Jonathan, one heifer Calf, one year old.

    'I give to my son Ebenezer Kelsey of New Hartford, my tools for making Cyder press, my new broad axe, a square and twy bill, one half of the team and tackling, cart and plow and chains, one half of the wheat fan, half of the carpenters tools and half of half bushell; whom I appoint one of my executors.

    'I give to my son Timothy Kelsey of Kensington, besides what I have already given him, a five quarter auger.

    'I give to my son Samuel Kelsey of New Hartford, my sword and broad axe and one thirt of my lott out in New Hartford, bounded south upon land now belonging to Sarah Kelsey and north upon land belonging to Joseph Webster's heirs, this land I give to his son Daniel and his heirs forever.

    'To Samuel one half of the team and team tackling, cart and plow and chains. One half of the wheat fan, and half of half bushell; whom I appoint one of my executors.

    'I give to Ebenezer Kelsey son of Ebenezer Kelsey of New Hartford, a certain piect of land lying in New Hartford, it being my last division, bounded north by Ebenezer Kelsey's land and south by land belonging to Abel Morrells.

    'I give to my daughter Dorothy, of Farmington, above what she has already received, one hive of bees.

    'To my daughter Esther Kelsey of New Hartford, a feather bed, and bedding and one half of a lott bounded north by land belonging to Thomas Olcott, south by John
    Spencer's land, east and west upon a highway, these I give her and her heirs forever, also a red chest with one drawer, peal, tongs, tramell, brass kettle and a puter platter.

    'I give my daughter Sarah of Farmington, above what she has already received, a good weavers loom and tackling, a frying pan, one box, feather bed and bedding, and one puter platter.

    'I give to my daughter Abigail of Farmington, above what she has already had, a good new bed tick, a warming pan and one bed blankett.

    'I give to my daughter Eunice Church of New Hartford, above what she has already received, one half of a piece of land bounded by John Spencer's land on the south and on the north by land belonging to John (Thomas?, see above where other half was given to Esther) Olcott and one pewter platter.

    This is an abstract of the will quoted in the Kelsey genealogy. Among other things, it fails to indicate that the Nathan named in the will was not the son of Stephen, instead, he was son of Jonathan and grandson of Stephen.
