Stephen Jackson hath title to the within described tract of Land. Drury P. Armstrong Regist of E., T

8th Nov 1824 Recorded in my office I do hereby certify that the within Grant was duly registered. Drury P. Armstrong, Regst of E T (Estates & Trusts?) Book D page 183 with the certificate there to annexed in the registers office for Carter County at Elizabethton Aug .. B. Brewer Rgst (Registrar)

Note that one of the property lines is described as "Jackson's old line" indicating that it butts up to property already or formerly owned by a Jackson. This could well be property formerly owned by his father William Jackson which passed by William's Will to his wife Bathsheba. Later in 1823, Stephen also purchased another 10 acres in Carter County.

==============================================================

Stephen's father William rec'd a deed for 200 acres in Washington County (now Carter County) in 1794. In 1801 William deeded 100 of these acres to Leonard Shoun. And in 1819 book C pg 242, 243 Stephen Jackson witnessed deed Leonard Shown to Leonard's eldest son, John Shoun, the same 100A Leonard received from William Jackson (Grant #1123).
