Did you know Sophia's middle name was Philabina? Hello from Michigan. Is this Susie? And, your dad was Bus?

My dad was Verne Maxwell Culver, born in Wabash in 1914. Better known as Max to his family, his mother was Hazel Laudenbarger...sister to Dora and Beulah. Hazel Laudenbarger Culver and her family lived next door to Beulah Laudenbarger Kramer and her family on Sherman Street, and sister Dora and her family lived behind Beulah. How nice for the sisters to live together. Hazel even had a brother-in-law and his family...Jesse Culver...across the street.

Down the street from his mother and aunts lived your Uncle Mutt and his wife Helen. Their daughter (Beverly) Kay still lives in Wabash. She and her husband Ralph Lawrence Murphy (called Ralph or Larry or Murphy) have a farm outside of town. I believe he is retired from the fire department. They have three sons (grown) and grandchildren.

I can remember staying with your family in Florida in 1962. I would have been only 9 at the time, the baby sister to Janice and Mary Alice. If you are the Susie I remember, you were a beautiful, blonde teenager!

Please write to me when you can at: culvbe@mail.homer.k12.mi.us

My mother, Alice, is 91 and still going strong. I'm sure we can furnish you with all kinds of stories and maybe fill in the blanks. My older son, Bruce (34), wants to do a tour of Wabash this summer so Grandma and I can give him more info, too.

Waiting to hear from you! Bev
