Harrell, Simon, entered service in Shenandoah County, Virginia; granted Pension abt. age 63 in Frederick County, Virginia, 1819; died 10/9/1822; married 3/1/1816 to Lydia Harrison at home of her father in Frederick County, Virginia; widow granted Pension abt. age 77 in Warren County, Virginia, 1855 & granted Bounty Land Warrant #30769 then; son George, youngest child by wife Lydia, age 3 in 1820 when widow's daughter Seeny Harrison then age 10-11; widow died 11/5/1857; query letter in file in 1931 from Miss Alva Hatcher of Cuthbert, Georgia states she was great great granddaughter of Revolutionary War soldier Samuel/Simon Harrel, who died after 1827, leaving widow Evelyn Rushing Harrell. F-W8895, R1195.
