Simeon Van Akin (October 14, 1842 – after 1906) was a State Senator from Michigan.

He was born in Hudson, Michigan to parents who were among the pioneers of Michigan, having settled in the Tiffin River Valley before Michigan became a state. At the age of nineteen, he enlisted in the Union Army during the American Civil War, serving as a sharpshooter.[1] After the war, he moved to Ida Township, engaging in farming,[1] and was a member of the Michigan State Senate from the Fifth District from 1903 to 1906. He also held the offices of Township Clerk, Justice of the Peace, and member of the Board of Supervisors.[1]
