July 3d 1840. I Simeon Maxson of Shelby County in the State of Ohio do hereby make my last will and testament in manner & form following that, is to say I will order and direct that my funeral expences and just debts be fully paid and satisfied
2dly I give & bequath unto each of my children forty dollars viz Elizabeth Howell my one horse waggon and cow and calf [and?] thirty five dollars & five in money Mary Loofborrow forty dollars in a note of hand I hold against her husband Jacob D Maxson forty dollars in a note of hand I hold against him Rebecca J Davis forty dollars and Lydia Davis forty dollars, out of the claims I hold against her husband and the remaining part, of my property both personal & real I will & bequeath to Lydia Maxson my wife during her natural life
Thirdly & lastly I constitute, and appoint my son Jacob D Maxson & Lewis A Davis executors of this my last will and testament.
