Name also listed as Cynthia in some accounts. There’s some question as to whether Nancy Hogan is actually her mother. There is a vague record in the NC index which says Richard Lee and Nancy Hogan m. 1793, at which time Silence, assuming she wrote the correct date in her family bible, was 3. However, she did name her oldest daughter Nancy Hogan, and Nancy did take Silence and her brother along when she remarried, rather than leaving them with various Lee relatives.
