Sheridan Lee Crumrine, 90, of Chanute, Kansas passed away on Monday, January 16th, 2012 at the Neosho Regional Medical Center in Chanute, Kansas.
Sheridan was born in Independence, Kansas on July 23, 1921, the son of Roy Herbert and Mary Helen (DeVore) Crumrine.
He graduated from Chanute High School in 1940.
He married Shirley Mary McCune on January 17, 1946 in Chanute, Kansas. Shirley passed away in 2001.
Sheridan served throughout the Pacific Theater with the 736th Amphibious Engineers of the U.S. Army during WWII, attaining the rank of Technical Sergeant before returning to Chanute in 1947 where he and his wife, Shirley, both resided for the rest of their lives.
Sheridan spent his professional career working for Neosho Paper Products, beginning shortly after High School and returning after his military service to work for the company until his retirement as the plant Superintendent in the late 1980's.
Sheridan is survived by 3 grandchildren, Randall Steven Crumrine of Denver, CO, Daiquirie Lynn Crumrine of Wichita, KS, and Devin Lee Crumrine of Wichita, KS; 2 great-grandchildren, Ian Randall Crumrine of Denver, CO, and Dexter Atom
Crumrine of Wichita, KS; as well as a daughter-in-law, Jacqueline Crumrine of Wichita, KS.
He was preceded in death by his wife and parents.
Graveside services will be Friday, January 27, 2012 at Elmwood Cemetery in Chanute, KS.
Memorials in his name may be made to the Cecil J. Meeker VFW Post 1654 and may be left with the funeral home.
