In the same town is found his son Seymour[6] (now 39) and his family. Seymour married (1) Dorcas Jewell in 1787 in Killingworth, Middlesex Co., CT. They had the following children:

James Doud was born in 1787. Jesse Doud was born in 1789.

Jesse must have died as his name was reused for a child of the second marriage. James may have died as well as nothing is known of him and no one of his age is listed in the 1800 census with the rest of the family.

Seymour married (2) Jerusha Hurlburt about 1792 in Connecticut. Jerusha was born on 29 Dec 1771 in Haddam, Middlesex Co., CT. She died on 3 Mar 1826 in Hubbardton, Rutland Co., VT. They had the following children: Rhoda Doud was born about 1793 in Connecticut. Anson Doud was born about 1795 in Connecticut. Polly Doud was born about 1797 in Connecticut. Jesse Doud was born about 1799 in Connecticut. Electa Doud was born about 1801 in Connecticut.

1800 Hubbardton, Rutland County, Vermont Roll 52, Book 1, Page 93

The census shows 2 boys under 10 (Anson and Jesse) 2 girls under 10 (Rhoda and Polly?, Polly and Electa?) , one girl 10-16 (??) and his wife 26-45.
