1875 - Marriage: On May 22, 1875, Sarah White 21, spinster, born in Goderich Township, married Elliott Irwin 26, Farmer, bachelor, born in Goderich Township, in Goderich Township, Huron County. His residence when married was listed as Muskoka while hers was listed as Goderich Township. His parents were listed as Robert and Mary Irwin. Her parents were listed as John and Rebecca White. Witnesses were James and Rebecca White (probably her siblings). Source is their 1875 marriage registration, Goderich Township, Huron County, Ontario, Reg. No. 003905. NOTE: Some have said that Sarah White was Elliott's cousin.

1881 - Census: In 1881, Sarah White 26, was living in Goderich Township, Huron County with her father John White 58, and her mother Rebecca White 48, along with her siblings: still at home: Sarah 26, Robert John 17, Eda 12, Joseph A 10, Wm George 8 and Marg't Jane 5.
