Notes

Some researchers have stated that Elizabeth Mitchell was the wife of George Bell of Blount and Washington County, Tennessee, but there do not appear to be any records supporting this. There is a Virginia marriage record of a Sarah Shaw who married George Bell 3 November 1786 in Montgomery County, Virginia. The wife of George Bell died prior to 1830 as she was not listed in the Census records.
