Samuel Shaw Will
In the name of God Amen. I Samuel Shaw of the County of Washington in the ceded Territory, South of the River Ohio, being weal of Body but of Sound mind & memory blessed be God, do this twenty ninth of July in the Year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred & ninety four, make and publish this my Last will & testament in manner following that is to say, my Soul I recommend to God who gave and my body to the dust to be buried in a christian manner nothing doubting at the general resurrection that I shall receive the same again.
And first of all I give and bequeath unto my Wife Margaret Shaw her living on my plantation and her bed and cloaths and her mare during her lifetime.
I give my Son Francis Shaw the plantation on which I live at my decease as also my Negro Girl and my Still with the utinsels thereunto belonging As also I give unto my Son Samuel Shaw the plantation which I bought from Robert Dirnmit? and my negro boy named Harry.
And the remainder of my movable estate I allow to be equally divided between my Sons Francis and Samuel and I leave my Daughters, which are married each five Shillings five pence and I make and Ordain my Sons Francis and Samuel my whole and Sole Executors of this my last Will and Testament.
In Witness whereof I the Sd. Samuel Shaw have Set to my hand & seal the day and Year above written.
