Sarah Primet was baptised on 11th March 1781 at Great Wymondley in Hertfordshire, daughter of Sarah Primet, formerly Dixon, and her husband Thomas Primet.
On 4th February 1801, Sarah married an agricultural labourer called Philip Watson, who was also from Great Wymondley. They went on to have five children baptised at Great Wymondley between 1801 and 1811. They then moved to the neighbouring parish of Little Wymondley, where they had a further three children baptised between 1814 and 1819.
Back in Great Wymondley, Sarah's mother died in 1822 and her father died in 1829.
By 1841 Sarah and Philip were living with their son John at Gosmore in the parish of St Ippolyts, a couple of miles west of the Wymondleys.
Philip died in 1846, aged 68. His last abode was given as Thistley Farm, just south of Gosmore. Sarah survived him by nineteen years. She appears in both the 1851 and 1861 censuses still living with her son John and his family in Gosmore. In the 1851 census there were four generations of the family living in the same house, with one of Sarah's great grandchildren living there.
Sarah died at the age of 84. She was buried at St Ippolyts on 25th November 1865.
