Three sources describe the family of Jacob Perkins and Sarah Kimball: Source:White, Almira Larkin. Genealogy of the Descendants of John White of Wenham and Lancaster, Massachusetts, Vol. 1, p. 100; Source:Perkins, George Augustus. Family of John Perkins of Ipswich, Mass, Part III, p. 14 and 24; 15 Generations of Whipples by Blaine Whipple, p. 100. They appear to merely be copies of each other.

None of the three provide any information about Sarah's birth or parents. Based on her husband's birth in 1732/33, and the marriage in 1758, her birth might be about 1735. There are several Sarah Kimballs listed in the Wenham VRs:

  • Kimball, Sarah, d. Ebenezur and Elisabeth, Apr. 16, 1728 [presumably m. Hopkinton Samuel Hiscock]
  • Kemball, Sarah, d. Nathanill and Sarah, June 29, 1731 [presumably d. young]
  • Kemball, Sarah, d. Abraham and Elisabeth, Dec. 23, 1732 [m. Pelatiah Cummings per History of the Kimball Family]
  • Kimball, Sarah, d. Nathaniel and Sarah, Jan. 15, 1737-8 [d/o Nathaniel and Sarah (Wells), no further information in History of the Kimball Family]

All three sources make the same error of claiming that Sarah died 19 May 1760 (Whipple specifies in Sutton, the other two don't say where.) The truth is that there is no such death record in Sutton, and the death in Wenham on 19 May 1760 is for the daughter Sarah (see here). Sarah appears to still be listed as the mother of Jacob's children as late as 1777 (see here).
