Sarah Haines may have been from Camden, New Jersey, as had been her father.

Sarah Haines first married Simeon Pine, by whom she bore six children. About thirteen years after the death of Simeon, Sarah married Samuel Kelly, a prominent man in Waynesville. They were married for two years before she died.

She is buried in the Waynesville Friends Cemetery, which is located on High Street across from the white brick Friends Meeting House. To find Sarah Kelley look to the west, look for the largest stand of trees at the west end of the cemetery, look for a row of rushes or daylilies and she is buried in these.
