NEGHR V.14 P. 114 "Perkins Family of Connecticut".....«i» "Matthew Perkins owned a farm of 1000 acres in Hanover Society, north part of Lisbon. He belonged to the Hanover branch of the family, known thereabouts as the "Black Perkinses". He was a large and powerful man. He died from lockjaw, caused by a bite on the thumb which he received from a young negro slave whom he was chastising for some fault. He m. 1739, Hannah dau of Samuel Bishop and Sarah Fobes, who was then aged 15 and who died at Lisbon 28 Oct 1809, aged 87.«/i»"
