After her husband died when she was 70, Sarah lived with her daughter Eva Davis in Waterbury, CT. Eleanor Davis knew her there as Great Nana, and remembers her as very slim. Sarah eventually broke her hip and died in Waterbury.

Her great great granddaughter Kathryn has a quilt made by Sarah for her great granddaughter Eleanor Davis, later Claff, which is signed “Sarah J Fadden 93 yrs 1939”. The signature is barely legible along the edge. The quilt was for a 3/4 bed and altered by Kathryn for a daybed for daughter Meghan.
