Obituary: Mrs. Albert Keys. Delong, Oct 31, 1923 Sarah Katherine Keys, daughter of David and Harriet Miller Davis was born March 17, 1858 at Mackinaw, Ill., and died Oct 26, 1923 at the age of 65 years 8 months and 9 days. When a child, she moved with her parents to a farm near Maquon, Il.; where she lived through the early years of girlhood. She early became a member of the Methodist church. She was united in marriage to Albert Keys, March 27, 1879. To this union were born five children, two of whom passed away in infancy. Surviving her death are her husband and three children, Hattie Bragg of Knoxville, Grace Hartman and Charles Davis Keys of Galesburg, also six grandchildren, Lyle, Dale, Lois, Josephine and Eugene Bragg and Kenneth Hartman, two sisters, Mrs. James Ashton and Mrs. W. P. Moon, and a host of other relatives and friends who mourn her departure. Two sisters, Mrs. E. G. Howard and Mrs. A.M. Powelson preceded her in death. Mrs. Keys was very well known in Delong and vicinity, where she faithfully continued her services in the Congregational church, of which she became a member and was also a member and assisted faithfully in the work of the Ladies Aid. She was also an active worker in the Red Cross. The funeral services were held Sunday at 2p.m. in the Haynes chapel near DeLong, and were conducted by the Rev. Frederick Held, pastor of the Delong Congregational church. The rev. Held used for his text, "When He Hath Tried Me I Shall Come Forth as Gold" Job. The quartet, Mr & Mrs Harley Steele, Mrs. Ecklund, E.D. Cramer sang, "Rock of Ages," "Beautiful Isle of Somewhere," "The Land of the Unsetting Sun.": Mrs Held accompanied at the organ. The pallbearers were Delbert Gillum, E.T. Haynes, A.H. Cramer, J. W. Peck, Edwin Cramer, George Cramer. Interment was made in Maquon Cemetery MRS ALBERT KEYS BURIED SUNDAY IN MAQUON CEMETRY Maquon, Ill, Oct 29, (Special to the Mail) A large circle of relatives and friends accompanied the remains of Mrs. Albert Keys who passed away at Delong, Friday, to the Maquon cemetery, where burial took place Sunday afternoon. several from here were also in attendance, as Mr. and Mrs. Keys were at one time residents of this vicinity, and have many friends who extended their sympathy. In the scrapbook kepth by Kate Davis Keys - a picture of Dr. Becker, new mayor of Knoxville who was sworn into office Tuesday night - she has written underneath - "My Doctor who Delivered Me"
