Gender Female
Marriage 1 Nov 1694 Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, Englandto William Green
Burial[1] 15 Sep 1727 Wheathampstead, Hertfordshire, England

Sarah Crismas' origins are unknown. Her first confirmed sighting is on 1st November 1694, when she married a William Green at Wheathampstead in Hertfordshire. The Wheathampstead parish records only survive from 1690, so there is a good chance that Sarah was from Wheathampstead, but any record of her baptism has been lost.

Sarah and William had a son, William, baptised at Wheathampstead on 27th December 1696, but he died as a baby of about six months. He was followed in 1698 by a son called John who died within a couple of days of his baptism.

In 1699 they had a daughter, Elizabeth, baptised at Wheathampstead on 2nd July 1699. She was followed by a Thomas in 1701 and another John in 1706.

In 1722 their daughter Elizabeth was married to a tailor named John Swallow. Elizabeth's first known grandchild was born the following year. She would live to see at least four grandchildren born in her lifetime, although three of them died young.

Sarah died in 1727, being buried at Wheathampstead on 15th September. It is quite possible there was an illness in the family; her granddaughter Martha Swallow was buried the same day. William appears to have been still alive when Sarah died, as she was described on her burial record as "Sarah wife of William Green". It has yet to be established when he died.
