Sarah Bourne was born about 1713 in Virginia Colony. She never married. Sarah Bourne by tradition married John Morton s/o William Morton and Ann Batchelder, however this John Morton was born ca l727 and his widow, Sarah, died in Woodford County, KY ca 1826. This unlikely chronology makes this speculation highly uncertain. Have good information that the wife of John Morton was Sarah Hawkins. Newman A. Hall says Sarah Bourne was not married.

In Orange Co. VA. Deed Book between pages 228 and 229 a sheet inserted contains two items. The first is an assignment dated 7 Mar 1743/4 of a 156 acre lease from William Minor to Robert Bourne. The second is an item dated 20 Feb 1749-1750 witness by Robert Bourn and Sarah Bourn. No evidence exists to indicate that either Robert or Sarah were married, so these signatures are for brother and sister. Robert also appears in the Orange Co tithables in 1752 and Sarah in 1755 and 1756. [1]
