Martella Warner is in the 1870 MI Census for Ypsilanti, Ward 5, Washtenaw County. He was age 50 in 1870 and is a "Horse Doctor" & Justice of the Peace. He was married to an "Elvira". Perhaps in 1877 the Sarah A. Barker below married Martella/Murtella Warner/Wurner, her first husband was a jockey and her second the horse Dr. and they both lived in Ypsilanti, MI in 1870. BUT Sarah A. Barker is also listed in Ypsilanti, Washtenaw Co., MI, age 40, born NY with a son, age 24, both born in NY. His name looks to be "Rice" Barker. The page before her, at the bottom is Hiram Barker, age 55, born NY listed as a "horse jockey". Both in Ward 4.
