Sara Jane Conkey, 86, of Washington, passed away Thursday, July 17, 2014.
She was born June 24, 1928, in North Bethlehem Township, a daughter of Thomas Clarence Wilson Sr. and Lillian Mae Crumrine Wilson.
On June 27, 1949, in Old Concord Presbyterian Church, Morris Township, she married Thomas Arthur Conkey, who passed away September 16, 1977.
Mrs. Conkey was a member of Taylorstown Presbyterian Church.
She enjoyed working at her son's flower shop and traveling to Dollywood. She was an avid bingo and card player. Her greatest joy was spending time with her family and hosting the yearly family reunion at her home.
Mrs. Conkey was the loving mother of Betty Thompson of Washington, Debra Conklin of Claysville and Thomas Conkey Jr. of Washington.
Also surviving are seven grandchildren, Jeffery, Michael and Jody Thompson, Carla Earley, Aaron and Corey Conklin and Michelle (Harry) Moore; eight great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
Deceased, in addition to her parents and husband, are a daughter, Karen Amos; a granddaughter, Brandy Amos; three brothers, Robert Wilson, Thomas Wilson and David Wilson; and two sisters, Doris Terminato and Marjorie Kisner.
Friends and family will be received from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Sunday in Young Funeral Home and Cremation Services Inc., 219 Main Street, Claysville, 724-663-7373, where services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, July 21. Burial will follow in Claysville Cemetery.
