    Sara F. Welikonich , lifelong Frackville resident, died Thursday evening at her residence with her family at her side.

    Born in Frackville she was a daughter of the late Elias and Elizabeth “ Haddad “ Nahas.

    She was a member of St. Michael’s Ukrainian Catholic Church and a lifetime member of St. Joseph’s Catholic Church both of Frackville. She was a member of Catholic Daughters of the Americas, Court St. James, Sacred Heart Society of St. Michael’s and a volunteer at Broad Mountain Nursing Center, all of Frackville. Sara owned her own beauty salon in Frackville for several years and enjoyed bowling with her friends in several bowling leagues.

    She was preceded in death by her husband Nicholas (Nick) Welikonich in 1994 and a brother James A. Nahas in 1982.

    She is survived by her son Lou and his wife Liz Welikonich, Frackville, her daughters; Lisa and her husband Jim Cairo, Frackville, Judy and her husband Thomas Davis, Bethlehem and Linda and her husband Robert Cameron, Landisville, her brother Robert Nahas, New York City, her six sisters; Marie Hayek, Reston, VA. Dorothy Rader, Girardville, Rose Matthews, Easton, Dale Matern, Frackville, Joan Griffin, Morristown, NJ and Helene Nahas, Frackville, 11 grandchildren, 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.

    Relatives and friends are invited to attend funeral services at 9:30 a.m. on Tuesday from the Thomas M. Sullivan Funeral Home, Frackville. Mass of Christian Burial, for Sara, will be celebrated at 10 a.m. in St. Joseph’s Catholic Church with Rev. Robert T. Finlan, pastor, as the celebrant. Interment will be in St. Michael’s Ukrainian Cemetery, Englewood, Frackville. Friends may call at the funeral home on Monday evening from 5 until 8 p.m. with vigil services at 6 p.m.
