SANFORD AULT INJURED WHEN STRUCK BY AUTO-

Sanford Ault, 72, residing at 844 North Anderson street, sustained painful, but not serious injuries last night about 9:30 o'clock when struck by an automobile driven by William Steele of Indianapolis. The accident occured in front of the Mack theatre in Main street. Mr. Ault stepped out from between two machines and started to cross the street. He said he did not see the approaching machine. The car knocked him down. Fortunately, he escaped with a bruised hip and arm. Police released the driver of the automobile after an investigation. Elwood Call Leader, Saturday 26 September 1931

SANFORD AULT 88, DIED EARLY TODAY-

Sanford Ault, 88, of Rural Route One, Atlanta, died at the Reabach Nursing Home in Anderson at 3:30 o'clock this morning of complications. Mr. Ault had been in failing health for the past four years. Born November 6, 1858 in Hamilton county, he was the son of Henry and Rachel Ault. He was married to Mary carpenter. She preceded him in death on December 4, 1929. He was a retired farmer. Survivors include: a son, Guy Ault of Rural Route One, Atlanta; a granddaughter, Mrs. Lois Schwart of Frankton; two great grandchildren; two brothers, Lewis Ault of Elwood and Albert Ault of New Mexico and one sister, Mrs. Tine Justice of Elwood. The body was taken to the Clark Chapel and will remain there until 1:30 o'clock on Sunday afternoon. At that time it will be removed to the Methodist church in Aroma, where funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 o'clock. Rev. E.W. Hamilton, pastor, will be in charge.
