Arne Strang: Sanda was the
last one to leave the parents, she moved from Falköping, the street
Repslagargatan 11 in 1879 and moved to Jönköping, she was confirmed in
Falköping in 1876 and her knowledge was "mycket god"=very well.
Residence at marriage: N. Kvarteret, Jonkoping. Occupation: "Piga" = maid.
Sanda left Malmo for New York, ticket # 188:2157:760, on 23 June 1886 with three-year-old daughter Ruth and one-year-old daughter Hilma. The Emigranten CD omits Hilma and mistranscribes her name as "Boving", but a check of the underlying card index at the Swenson Center confirmed her presence.

- ↑ Sanda: "Last Monday morning, Ruth called up Emma D. and said that we were here and invited her over. . . . [there follows an exchange of gifts and a second meeting at a park, all implying kinship] Yesterday, Alice and I went out to see Emma. We left at 11 am and stayed until 3 pm. We had dinner there and that was the best meal I have eaten there. Everything tasted so good. I had 3 cups of coffee so you can be sure that it tasted good. The house was nice and orderly, and the yard so incredibly beautiful. Emma herself is so old and looks quite frail. She almost looks as though she were 70 years old. She was so happy for what she received and Lee was apparently more than satisfied. We have not seen him yet, he works."
