Emy Lou's birth name was apparently Hilma. When she tried to find her birth certificate, there was none for an Emmy Lou but she did find one for Hilma.

Birth date may be 6, 11, or 12 October 1893.

8 September 1944 congratulatory letter from an accounting supervisor at Dayton Power and Light Co. to the director of the "Western Records Installation Dept." of Remington Rand: "Undoubtedly it is needless to tell you that we were pleased with the capable and efficient manner in which Miss Boring did this re-write job for us. It is always a pleasure for us to know that Miss Boring is going to be in charge of any job that we contract with Remington Rand to do for us because past experience has proved to us that she is tops." We actually don't know for sure whether this applied to Emy Lou or Ruth!

21 March 1955 receives congratulatory letter from R. A. Winterrowd, general manager, business services department, Remington Rand Inc., NYC, for 25 years of service with the company.

Retired 22 September 1956 because of fatigue.

Letter from J.E. Price to a colleague, 12 July 1957, urging prompt processing of her pension. In 1956 her weekly rate of pay was in excess of $3000/year. "While this has nothing to do with any statistical entitlement, Miss Boring lives with her sister who retired after 28 years of service. Her sister has been ill quite recently and I know that the earlier receipt of a slightly lesser amount will be more in keeping with thier needs than the deferred retirement allowance becoming payable in October 1958. Incidentally, her sister, Ruth, with 28 years of service, qualified for not one cent of retirement benefits." Monthly benefit was $49.64, according to another letter 12 December 1957.
