They moved from Andover to Phillips Gore sometime before September 1793 when their first child was born in Otisfield. He bought of George Smith May 5, 1789 for 45 pounds "A lot of land lying in or near Shepherdsfield in Cumberland County and near Otisfield, lot 15, Range 3." He built a house on the east side of the road near the SW corner of the lot and lived there for the remainder of his life.
