Samuel Wallis was a member and elder of the Cecil Meeting of Friends. He had inherited 300 acres of a plantation called Partnership from his father. His will was as follows: Will of Samuel Wallis I Samuel Wallis, of Kent County in the province of Maryland -Yeoman- declare this to be my last will and Testament in manner and form following: I give and bequeath to my son, Henry Wallis, his heirs and assigns forever, a certain tract of land called Rebecca's Desire which I purchased from a certain Daniel Cunningham and Hannah, his wife, containing 45 acres more or less, and also such part of a tract of land called Good Hope that lies to the northward of a certain branch that makes into the north end of my dwelling plantation, and also a parcel of land called the Addition to Good Hope contiguous thereunto, both parcels purchased from Henry Bodien and Sarah, his wife. I give and bequeath to my son John Wallis, his heirs and assigns forever all the remaining part of said tract of land called Good Hope including the branch and meadow Ground that lies in the said tract called Good Hope that belongs to me, and also my part of a tract of land called Wolf's Hook contiguous thereunto, the said parcels of land being divers purchases made from Henry Bodien and Sarah his wife. My will is that if either of my said sons, Henry or John Wallis, should die without heirs lawfully begotten of their bodies, then I give and bequeath all the before mentioned tracts or parcels of land to the other son and his heirs forever. I give and bequeath to my son Samuel and his heirs and assigns forever, all my part of a tract of land called Partnership. My will is that my son Samuel shall possess my son John Wallis' land and meadow ground till he, the said John comes of age. He, the said Samuel not to cut down any timber or wood only that is sufficient to keep the fence in repair and paying his said brother when he comes of age twelve pounds a year for the use of it. I give and bequeath to my daughter, Sarah Wallis, my negro girl named Luce and my largest looking glass and the Mahogany Dining table that stands under it, and the horse and colt that came of Bonny Mare. I give and bequeath to my son John Wallis my negro woman named Rachel and my negro girl named Jude, and the colt that came of the mare that goes by the name of Johnney's Mare. I give and bequeath to my son Henry Wallis my negro man George and the mare that goes by the name of His Mare. I give unto my son Samuel my negro woman Poll. My will is that the rest of my personal Estate should be divided equally among my children. Lastly, I constitute and appoint my son Samuel Wallis executor of this, my last will and testament hereby revoking all former wills and only holding this for firm and good. In testimony thereof have now unto ___ my hand and affixed my seal this first day of the second month 1764. Sam Wallis.
