A Samuel & his family are enumerated next to a hotel, which he may have owned and operated. His sons are described as clerks (hotel clerks ?).

  9. Samuel's Tennessee birth, conjectural, seems to imply that he was the son of a Revolutionary War veteran, Christopher Waggoner. Per this Christopher's Pension application, he was born 20 Jun 1755 in Bucks Co., Pa., m. Elisabeth Jesper in 1784, resided in N.C. at time of service, and in 1824 obtained a grant of land in Tennessee, where he died in 1849 in Humphrey's County. A list of his known children, makes no mention of a son, Samuel.
