Samuel Preston was baptised on 18th April 1736 at Kirkby la Thorpe in Lincolnshire, son of Bridget Preston, formerly Vincent, and her husband John Preston, a carpenter. Samuel died when he was only fourteen years old, being buried on 28th June 1750. His parents both survived him.
