Gravestone says age at death was 78 years, 2 months. Franklin Co. Museum and Historical Society lists three wives, a (1) Miss Silver, (2) a Hannah Arnold, and (3) a Laura Beach Upham. Wife Laura is buried beside him in the Brayton Hollow Cemetery in Chateaugay, died April 20, 1862, age 75 years, 8 mos. Hannah Arnold, according to information from FCHMS, was the widow of Samuel's brother John. No children from first marriage, four each from second and third marriages.
