Research notes
- Most of the family names here were found in his Montgomery Co., IN 5 Nov 1850 will (must have anticipated his death four days later and the will mentions that he had moved to that county about 1849; only a year prior: we know that son James M. was born in KY). In the will, there is no mention of a wife, so she is assumed to have deceased before him. Alfred got the farm until March 1, 1852 in reward of his kindness to his father. James M. received $25 due him, as did Kesiah. Willis (deceased?) represented by his children. Witnesses Zechariah Bailey, Joseph Carman, and James McIver. Martin Utterback was the estate administrator. I wonder if Willis is not William W. Owen. This will says that Samuel moved to Montgomery Co., IN about 1849.
