Facts and Events
From the Bartlett Society He was the son of Ephraim and Hannah (Faunce) Morton. On 21 Dec 1745 adminitration on the estate of Samuel Morton was granted to widow Lydia Morton. On 7 March 1745 Benjamin Morton chose his uncle Samuel Bartlett of Plymouth to be his guardian. On 13 April 1748 Nathaniel Foster was named guardian of Barnabas Morton, minor son of Samuel Morton. On 13 March 1761 Lydia Morton, Lydia Phillips, Benjamin Morton, Ephraim Morton and Samuel Morton signed a quit-claim to their uncle Ebenezer Morton of all their interest in the estate of their grandmother Hannah Cook. [Ephraim Morton mentioned in the deed is apparently an error for Elisha Morton.] On 18 Dec 1789 Elisha Morton of Plymouth, mariner; Benjamin Morton of Rochester, Bricklayer; Samuel Morton of Plymouth, mariner; Hannah Donham and Ebenezer Donham; and Lydia Phillips of Plympton, spinster, sold part of their father's estate to Jacob Albertson.
