Gr.-gr.-granddaughter of Samuel Moore and Eunice Goddard [Olive Bent], his [first] wife.
Samuel Moore, (1761-1838), was placed on the pension roll of Franklin Co., 1832, for service of private in the Massachusetts militia. He was born in Sudbury.
- ↑ Source:Allred, Marilyn. Town of Warwick, Franklin County, Massachusetts, Genealogical Records 1739-1900, Births, Marriages,, p. 193, says Samuel's wife was "Elizabeth ---". However, the death records of at least three of Samuel's children name their mother as Olive or Olivia - Daniel (No. 5); Harriet Wilson (No. 10); and Olive Ford (No. 67). Also, the marriage of Samuel Moore to Olive Bent in Wayland in 1783 is about six months prior to the birth of their first child. It is not clear what Allred's conclusion was based on, but Samuel's mother was named Elizabeth, and the wife of his nephew Samuel (son of his brother Jonathan) was named Elizabeth, both possible sources for this confusion. Allred does not mention a second wife, but it also appears Olive died sometime soon after the last child and Samuel m. (2) 1803 Eunice Goddard, who is buried in the same cemetery that Samuel is. Allred's errors are part of a comprehensive confusing of the various Samuel Moores of Warwick, which is discussed in more detail here.
