Born abt. 1655, d. at Ridgefield, 19 May 1713 ae. 58; … He received a grant of 12 acres in Norwalk, for service in the Great Swamp Fight, K. Philip's War. Inv. of Samuel of Ridgefield, 17 June 1713; no widow [the widow was alive at the time of the inventory but died before the estate was settled; see the St. John genealogy, 21]; only five sons surviving, viz. Samuel, Joseph, Jonah, [name omitted], Timothy.

    Samuel Keeler, b. in Norwalk, in 1655-6; d. in Ridgefield, May 19, 1718: the son of Ralph and Widow (Sarah Whelpley) Keeler [all Ralph's children were by his unknown first wife; see Families of Old Fairfield, I:356]. His estate was settled and distributed to his sons Oct. 21, 1717. He was in the Narragansett fight, Dec. 19, 1675, and moved to Ridgefield, Ct., in 1708-12.
