'SAMUEL JORDAN came to Virginia 1610, according to the patent for 450 acres in Charles City issued to him, 10 December 1620, which recites that he was "an ancient planter who hath abode ten years complete in this colony."' [citing Virginia Colony records]
The author mentions a letter written April 1622 that refers to "the plantation of Mr. Samuel Jordan's", and states that he died before April 1623, citing Virginia Colony records.
He left issue Mary, born in Virginia in 1621 and Margaret, born in Virginia in 1623. Footnote: 'No other issue has been positively identified; Thomas Jordan presented hereafter [1600-1644] could not have been the son of Sisley Jordan though he may have been a son of Samuel1 by a former marriage.'
