These families in the 1870 and 1880 census below appear to be identical except that son Samuel's middle initial is different. It appears that by 1880 the son Samuel has begun to use the middle initial of 'T' and he is found as Samuel T in the 1900 and 1910 census. Though his age is a bit different in 1900, I believe it is the same man as I have not found another Samuel in the same area at the same time.
