Information on Samuel Huston

In 1803 the first settlers came to the headwaters of the creek, and settled on the Little Four Mile, at the Ohio state line. They were: two brothers, James Huston (w. Sarah) and Samuel Huston (w. Elizabeth Brown), who had heard of the area from their cousin, Matthew Huston, a wagoner for General Wayne. [1]

Elizabeth is the cousin of my ancestor, James Huston (b. 1803 Preble County, Ohio). She married John Hopkins in 1822 in Preble County. This information is from the following website: http://www.union-county.lib.in.us/GenwebVA4mile/huston.htm.

According to my information, Elizabeth is the daughter of Samuel Huston b. 1768 Bedfore Co., PA d. 1822 Preble County, Ohio). Samuel and his brother James were among the first settlers in Preble County. Samuel is one of 8 children of Thomas Huston and Agnes McElvain. Thomas and his family seem to have gone from Virginia to Pennsylvania then back to Virginia. I'm still trying to find out what branch of the Huston family this is and who are Thomas Huston's parents. Please let me know if you have any information!
