From "The Ogden Family" - see source: SAMUEL SOUTHARD HALSEY, ESQ., b. Rockaway, N.J., Oct. 17, 1835; d. Vineland, N.J., Nov. 25, 1889; m. June 25, 1860, EMMA ROCKWELL, b. Jan. 18, 1839; dau. of David Rockwell, Esq., and Sarah Harwood, his wife. He graduated at Nassau Hall in 1856, studied law, and was admitted to the bar June, 1859. He was active in politics and had an extensive law practice in Morristown, N.J. In 1871 his health began to fail and he removed to Vineland, where he died. They had 5 children.
