    Samuel and Hannah York has Elizabeth York who married Samuel Griffin. They quit claimed to son Samuel Griffin Jr in 1754 citing York Deeds 30:258

York's land; and four acres on the east side of the way leading from Lobster Cove to Sandy Bay" He had sons Samuel, Adoniram and Daniel. Samuel Griffin, jun., for many years a member of the church at Annisquam, and a useful citizen, died Jan. 15, 1781;" "Samuel Griffin first appears in Gloucester on his marriage to Eliz. York Dec.15, 1703.There was a family of this name early settled in Ipswich. Humphrey may have been ancestor of Samuel and a Samuel who is said to have moved from Newbury in 1736.

    "Samuel Griffin appears in town on the occasion of his marriage to Elizabeth York, Dec. 15, 1703. He probably came from Ipswich, where Humphrey Griffin settled in 1641. Samuel had a grant of land on the road leading from Lobster Cove to Sandy Bay. His numerous descendants are among the active and energetic businessmen of the town."
